Established in 2009, The Brit Invasion have gone from strength to strength building a following and a reputation for putting on an entertaining show in and around Essex, particularly with many scooter clubs and the 60’s mod revival music scene.
The unique attraction which sets the band apart from all others is that they only play British music. When the band decided to stick to only British music, they were worried they might have limited their options, however, 6 years on and they haven’t even scratched the surface, with literally hundreds of songs and bands that they haven’t touched yet. They have an incredibly wide and diverse repertoire ranging in style and date.
Over a 2 hour set, the band can take you on a journey where you can hear the best of the 60’s from bands such as The Kinks, The Beatles and The Small Faces to guilty pleasures from Tom Jones, Status Quo and Queen as well as Britpop favourites Oasis, Blur and Pulp. There is a wealth of acts to choose from.
The band’s popularity continues to grow as crowds enjoy a ‘trip down memory lane’ of classic British music and the happy feeling of nostalgia which is increasingly missed in today’s rather uninspiring culture.
Drummer Stuart says “we love playing songs by artists which aren’t necessarily their biggest hits but are great songs which you wouldn’t normally hear performed by a covers band. It’s great to see crowds dancing and singing along to songs they haven’t heard for years and to rediscover the brilliance of some great British bands”.
Lead guitarist Adam “we pride ourselves on putting on a fun and energetic show which we believe represents a more authentic sound of many of the bands we are emulating. Raw and Live, like the early Kinks and Beatles”
Notable performances by the band include playing live on Phoenix FM, being finalists at the Gateway FM battle of the bands, a corporate event on the river Thames and playing at annual festival rallies, for the Tin Soldiers Scooter Club, Sudbury Scooter Club, the Welwyn Stags Scooter Club and the Arrows Scooter Club.
